RAINY AFTERNOONS

Imagine if you will! It's a dull overcast day and you feel in a melancholy mood, full of thoughts, it starts raining outside and you sit there staring through the window at the atmospheric scene!
This album is for just such an occasion and features a selection of dreamy thought-provoking masterpieces from the legends of the Easy/Lounge scene. Save it for that rainy afternoon to get the full effect or if you can't wait, enjoy it now!

No greater gift could be given! This is perfect! Great music! Awesome artwork! I'm gonna start my official collection right here! This is not just going to sit on my computer waiting to be erased by a catastrophic computer crash. Thanks for all that you do in blogland!
Rich

Don't talk to me about computer crashes I'm already paranoid about losing all my music through hard drive failure :(

Thanks for the first great feedback on my new collection.
Thinking about it as I was playing this collection back I may have slipped a few "happy" sounding tracks in without thinking (maybe I was subconciously in a happy state of mind at the time) so it may not be as "melancholy" as I originally intended but it does the job.
Maybe I'll do a "Rainy Evenings" later on :)

Cheers Rich

Yes, another smash, mate. Really appreciated. It's just a pity that the majority of people doesn't have the proper time to appreciate a rainy afternoon these days, at least the way you describe... I miss my days of "far niente" a lot! :0) Tanx a lot, brother.

All the best to you in the coming New Year. Have a slurp or two.

I have downloaded this simply because I was attracted by your wonderful artwork and didn't know what to expect. But Wow, I really enjoy it.
Thank you so much, your blog is really fantastic.

Thanks Kralik,

I really appreciate the kind comments, glad you like it :)

I hope to add more to this (and my other) series soon, unfortunately my main computer died recently and I need to get a new one. I'm only getting online with an old laptop for now.

I'm hoping I will be able to rescue all my image files from the old machine (fingers crossed) because it has all my templates for these collections.
I have some backed-up but I don't think I backed-up everything.
I can't even check at the moment because this laptop doesn't have a dvd drive!

Don't ya just love computers!

And idiots who don't back them up ;)

Another splendid compile. The mix of the familiar with the unfamilar nakes this pretty special.

Well done!

WOW....just....WOW!! I mean, first of all, the artwork is truly AMAZING. Secondly, the production values on the music is topnotch. I'm a huge fan of all things jazz, lounge and nostalgic (martini, anyone?) and I'm SO EXCITED to have found this site I can barely type this message!!

Kudos to everyone involved for the effort. It MUST be a labor of love because...WOW...everyone's truly outdoing themselves.

Applause, applause.

I eagerly anticipate the upcoming installments.

Thanks for the very enthusiastic comment boywriter :)

I'm glad these compilations are going down well with everyone. I really just put them together for my own listening, putting them up on the site however seems to have been a good move.

I do hope to add to the collection but I'm not sure when that will be......stay tuned ;)

Enjoy the rest of the site!

Hey, I am coming late to discover this, but not too late! Really amazing what you created here!

Rpdsh is really annoying, now the waiting time is 99 min (yes ninety nine minutes, no typo!!) between each download, but I am committed to raka these in.

Not that I am longing for gloomy rain days or so, no, I have just recently shut the heating off. I am enjoying the beginnings of summer now. But the next autumn will come...

I just found this site a few days ago and I LOVE Instrumental Voices, thank you. The newest links for the others aren't working, so I hope you will be willing to re-up Rainy Afternoons and Carry On in the Library. This stuff is right up my alley.

I'm still hoping these get re-uploaded. I'll keep checking back.

Being Scottish I have a certain natural affinity for rainy afternoons...

but sadly the download links for this album are broken...

please, please, pleeeeeeze, pretty please with a cherry on top... can this album be uploaded again???

And in addition I would also like to take the opportunity to say that I have only recently discovered this treasure trove of wonderful music... the work you have put in is fantastic... love the artwork, the fact that you go to the effort of putting in the artwork is amazing. kudos to you.

My favourite track at the moment is the Taking Of Pelham 123 on your volume 17 thrillers... so much so that I watched the 1974 movie. Great stuff.

Take Care...

I'm sorry that most of the links are now dead. I sort of semi-retired the site a while back after my files were being deleted by the hoster. I spent ssoooooo much time and effort in getting the site to the standard you see today that I couldn't face starting from scratch by re-uploading over 600 albums!

I didn't delete the site as I couldn't bare to see it disappear after all the hard work, and I may one day work up the enthusiasm to restart it again but I'm not promising anything...real life continues to keep my too busy :)

Thanks for all the kind comments and drop back every now and then, you never know.....

So... any chance to have this stuff re-uploaded? It's been a long wait, it would make a great Christmas present :)

Anonymous said...

I don't know if this message will go through but I'm writing with hope "Rainy afternoons" and "Carry on in the library" will be re-uploaded, or at least that I could get the tracklist to try to reassemble them. Those two are the only ones I couldn't get a hold to again after I've lost both Crime Jazz and Crime Luonge collection in HDD failure... Peace and love, peace and love!
